Lifesaving Services

Surf Life Saving Queensland's lifesaving services are provided through a network of volunteer lifesavers, professional Lifeguards, Support Services, Beach Management systems, and Community Education activities.

All lifesaving personnel are trained in the various rescue techniques prior to performing patrol services. They are then capable of utilising the rescue equipment and skills obtained through the awards to assist the swimming public, should emergency situations occur.

Services are spread along the Queensland coast from Rainbow Bay on the Qld/NSW border to Port Douglas in North Queensland.

Providing aquatic safety to the public is the most important area of our operations.
