The Bribie Island SLSC was founded in 1933, however patrols on Ocean beach at Woorim began in 1923 by members of the Metropolitan Swimming club in Brisbane. The club is one of the oldest community organisations in the Caboolture Shire, with a strong lifesaving foces and has won many patrolling excellence awards. The clubs membership has grown over the decades. Bribie has always been a very popular beach for bathers becuase of its close proximity to Brisbane.
